IIM Final Placements always draw attention in the society. Everyone wants to know about salary offered and companies visiting campuses for final placements at IIMs. According to IIM final placement report 2018, this year’s placement saw an increase in the number of offers made by major management consulting and financial firms as compared to last year. Let us take a detailed look at the IIM wise top recruiters and roles offered.
IIM Final Placements at different IIM campuses :
The final placement process for PGP batch of 2016 -18 in cluster-wise cohorts from February 11, 2018, with maximum offers from Accenture Strategy. Boston Consulting Group made the second highest number of offers.
Three clusters were formed in which-
Cluster 1: comprised of three cohorts – investment banking and markets, management consulting and private equity, venture capital and hedge funds.
Top recruiters were Accenture Strategy, A. T. Kearney, Bain & Co., Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman & The Boston Consulting Group among others.
The total number of offers made by Accenture Strategy was 17, which includes the Pre Placement Offers (PPOs) as well. Boston Consulting Group made 15 offers.
Cluster 2: comprised five cohorts – Consumer Goods, Consumer Services, Consumer Electronics, Retail B2B & Advisory Consulting. Airtel made the highest number of offers, which is 10, followed by Tata Administrative Services (TAS), which is seven.
Top recruiters were Airtel, Asian Paints, HUL, L’Oréal, Mondelez, Nestlé, Reckitt Benckiser and Samsung. The General Management and Leadership cohort comprised recruiters such as the C K Birla Group, JSW Group, RPG Group and Tata Administrative Services while the Advisory Consulting cohort consisted of firms like EY, Protiviti Global and PwC among others.
Also the institute has completed the final placement process for its PG Programme in Food and Agreebusiness Management on February 13, 2018 for the 2016-18 batch. All the 46 students of the batch were presented with diverse opportunities in food, agribusiness and allied sectors. A total of 24 companies of different sectors such as FMCG, Food Processing, e-Commerce, Agri Inputs and Services, Food and Agri Consulting, BFSI and Social Development, participated in the final placement process.
IIM Bangalore completed the final placement process for its 2016-18 batch with 34 per cent of the batch receiving offers in Management Consulting sector. A total of 462 offers in India and abroad, were made to 420 students by more than 140 companies participating in the placement process. The recruiters included key players from different sectors like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, HSBC, Deloitte, EXL, Samsung, Wipro Global, Kotak, Myntra, Flipkart etc.
IIMB experienced higher hiring interest in the more sought-after roles of investment banking and strategy consulting leading to more offers while the numbers were as usual in the other roles.
Goldman Sachs led the way by making the maximum of nine offers. Other offers were from Deutsche BankCitibank, HSBC, JP Morgan, Blackstone and Standard Chartered. Investment firms included Ambit Capital, Arpwood Capital, Myntra, o3 Securities and Sabre Partners. Eight Capital, a hedge fund recruited at the Institute for the first time.
In the consulting domain, Deloitte USI led with 18 offers followed by The Boston Consulting Group with 17 offers.
About 34% of the batch received offers in management consulting sector.
PriceWaterhouseCoopers made the maximum of 12 offers followed by Accenture Technology, Larsen and Toubro Infotech Consulting and Cognizant Consulting in the technology sector.
Samsung Electronics led the way with ten offers in the sales domain. M.H.Alshaya, the retail franchise operator, recruited only one student this year.
Prominent recruiters in the information technology space included Microsoft, EXL, Infoedge, Servion, Other companies that recruited in the IT product management domain were Gulf Talent, Bharti Airtel, BNY Mellon, Gwynnie Bee, Hindustan Unilever, Procter and Gamble and Karvy.
A total of 474 offers were made out of which nearly 50 percent were from the Finance and Consulting sectors. As many as 130 companies had participated in the final placement process of IIM Calcutta. Flipkart, Microsoft, Uber, Tata Administrative Services, Hindustan Unilever Limited and Proctor & Gamble were among the top recruiters. Accenture Strategy was the top recruiter followed by The Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company and AT Kearney in the Consulting sector.
Finance was the second highest recruiting sector with 23 percent offers. Major recruiters were J.P. Morgan & Co., Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bessemer Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs, CitiBank, Credit Suisse and IVFA. Bessemer Venture Partners recruited at IIM Calcutta for the first time.
IIM Final Placements at IIM Lucknow campus’ 454 offers were made by 143 recruiters including 47 new recruiters. Sales & Marketing constituted the highest recruiting sector with 24 percent offers followed by Consulting and Finance. The total number of students is 445. There has been a 20 percent increase in Pre-Placement Offers, 30 percent increase in the number of offers from the Higher Entry Placement Process (HEPP) and about 220 offers from the final placements.
The prominent recruiters at IIM Lucknow in HEPP consisted of Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Accenture, Citi, Deloitte, Everest Group, Flipkart, Hinduja, KPMG, PwC, Paytm, Tredence Analytics, Yes Bank. Apart from the above companies, this year IIM Lucknow saw a participation of other esteemed firms like Alvarez & Marsal, Citi Markets, Kotak, McKinsey & Company, Fidelity, MasterCard Advisors and The Boston Consulting Group.
Along with the traditional Sales & Marketing roles offered, the firms also offered roles in the Supply Chain Management, IT, Corporate Finance and Analytics, some of which were exclusive roles for the students of IIM Lucknow.
The participation of a number of international firms such as American Express, Altisource, Avendus Capital, CRISIL, Citi, Deutsche Bank, DBS, HSBC who were hiring for a diverse set of profiles.
The consulting domain saw participation from companies such as Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, Capgemini, Arete Advisors, Deloitte, EY, Feedback Infra, KPMG, PwC, Mastercard, Mckinsey & Company and The Boston Consulting Group.
the IT/e-Commerce/Technology sectors included Amazon, Flipkart, Cloudtail, OYO, Paytm, Uber and Wipro among others.
